Mattapoisett Congregational Church collects food for neighbors in need

MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Congregational Church collected nearly 800 pounds of food at its most recent food drive Thursday, Oct. 15.

The church’s mission team has collected over 1,200 pounds of food for Damien’s Pantry in Wareham in the last two months and continues its efforts next month.

The next food collection will be Thursday, Nov. 19 from 5-6:30 p.m. at 27 Church St. There will also be bins in the church’s Reynard Hall for convenient drop-off outside the collection time.

The church requests the donation of non-perishable items, particularly cooking oil, breakfast foods, dish detergent and oral hygiene products. Diapers and wipes, shampoo, bar soap, laundry detergent, dish detergent, and toiletries are also appreciated.

The pantry also needs specialty foods for gluten-free, dairy-free and allergen-free diets.
