The Mattapoisett Fire Department has received a $4,665.00 grant to teach fire prevention and line safety to residents.

The grant comes with the help of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security under the Student Awareness of Fire Education program.

The Fire Education program is credited with saving lives throughout the state with children taking action to help family members flee burning homes and calling 9-1-1 during emergencies.
