Wareham Police arrested three people, including a Mattapoisett resident, on Thursday, Nov. 10, for charges including the possession and distribution of pain pills.

Andrea Kaner, 28, of Mattapoisett was arrested for the possession of opines and the possession of opiets with intent to distribute the pills; Rhonda Bannon, 38, of Wareham was arrested for the distribution of opiates, and Jonathan Barrows, 38, of Wareham was arrested for possession of opiates, according to police.

Wareham detectives, who have been investigating the possession and sale of illegal drugs, noticed two vehicles involved in that investigation in the parking lot of the CVS plaza on Main Street around 12:15 p.m., police said.

Officers stopped the two vehicles on Main Street after "observing several acts of suspicious activity between the occupants of both vehicles" after one of the parties exited the CVS Pharmacy, according to police.

Kaner, who was riding in the second vehicle, was found to be in possession of approximately 44 Percocet pills, which police said they believed had been obtained from Bannon.

Barrows, a passenger in one of the vehicles, had Percocet pills in his lap, police said, adding that one of the pills was crushed "apparently for ingestion purposes."

Bannon, the driver of that vehicle, was found to be in possession of prescribed Percocet pills just obtained from CVS, according to police. Many of the pills were missing from the bottle, police said.

The three were booked at the Wareham Police Department and are scheduled to be arraigned in Wareham District Court on Monday, Nov. 14.
