Multi-car crash stops traffic on Route 6

A multi-car crash hampered traffic on Route 6 early Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 3:50 p.m., on the bridge leading into Wareham. Early police broadcasts indicated a three-car crash with injuries. Two ambulances were brought to the scene. Wareham and Marion Fire were on scene. Marion EMS evaluated the drivers, and two ambulances were called. One driver refused treatment. Another was transported to Tobey Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Route 6 was briefly shut down on both sides as the crash was investigated. However, according to emergency broadcasts, Marion Fire was planning to re-open one lane around 4 p.m.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time. Information will be updated as it is available.
