No people, animals injured in storage building fire
MARION — The cause of a Friday, Sept. 20 fire that started at a storage building at Great Hill Farm is still under investigation, according to Marion Fire Chief Brian Jackvony.
The 8,000-square foot structure used for storage suffered a partial collapse of the roof in the center part of the building after fire burned through it, Jackvony said.
No people or animals were injured in the fire, according to Great Hill Dairy owner Tim Stone.
Stone said he may need to replace some equipment due to damages.
“It could have been much worse,” said Stone.
The Marion Fire Department responded to the fire and called for mutual aid from Mattapoisett, Rochester and Wareham.
Photographs shared by the Marion Fire Department showed the charred interior of the barn, with some of the structure’s windows blown out and a hole in an upper section of the exterior wall.
