Mauk Hudig
Mauk Hudig passed away peacefully in Fairfield, NJ on September 29 at the age of 87.
Mauk was born to the late Maurits Hudig and Helma Heringa Hudig on January 23, 1939 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Mauk and his family made their primary home in Montclair, NJ and enjoyed many summers in Marion as renters before establishing a second home there in 2005.
Mauk was born and raised in the Netherlands and immigrated to the United States after completion of his law studies at Leiden University. He subsequently earned an MBA from New York University. He married Catherine Mayer of Madison, WI; they had two children, Carl and Vivien. He spent his career in the international divisions of Merck and Bristol Myers Squibb, mostly in strategic planning and operations improvement. He was a member of the Beverly Yacht Club, the Bay Club, the Kittansett Club, and the Boston Athenaeum.
He was predeceased by his spouse of 50 years, Catherine Mayer Hudig (2014) and his son Carl Hudig (2013). He is survived by his daughter Vivien Hudig and her husband Pablo Velasco who reside in Bend, OR, as well as his brother Maarten and sister Renee in the Netherlands.
