Nomination papers available for Marion town election

Marion’s annual town election will be held on Friday, May 12. Nomination papers for elected positions will be available beginning Feb. 1 at the Town Clerk’s Office, 2 Spring St.

The following positions are up for election. In parenthesis is the name of the official whose term is expiring:

Selectman: one position for three years (Stephen Cushing)

Assessor: one position for three years (Catherine Gibbs)

Moderator: one position for one year (Jeffrey Dickerson)

Board of Health: one position for three years (Elizabeth Dunn)

Planning Board: three positions for three years (Michael Poppitz, Robert Lane, Eileen Marum)

Old Rochester Regional School Committee: one position for three years (Paul Goulet, Jr.)

Marion School Committee: two positions for three years (Kate Houdelette, Christine Winters)

Open Space Acquisition Commission: two positions for three years (Joseph Keogh, Jeffrey Oakes)

Town Clerk: one position for three years (Ray Pickles)

Tree Warden: one position for three years (Margherita Baldwin)

Papers must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office for certification by Monday, March 20 by 5 p.m. The last day to withdraw a nomination, in writing, to the Town Clerk is April 5.
