MATTAPOISETT — Old Rochester Regional High School’s spring playoff run has come to an end, with the girls tennis team and both lacrosse teams eliminated in the round of 16 on Wednesday, June 4.

The girls tennis team lost to Danvers High School, Division 3’s No. 13 seed, at home with a final score of 3-2. Old Rochester was undefeated in their regular season, ranked as the No. 4 seed entering the post-season.

“They gave it their all. They lost a tough 3-2 match,” said James McGonigle, Old Rochester Tennis Coach.

The team won their first match against Auburn High School, but McGonigle said Danvers was “a little too strong.”

He adds, “I couldn’t be prouder of this group. They did a great job.”

Old Rochester’s girls lacrosse team was ranked as the No. 13 seed as they headed into playoffs. The team was defeated by Division 3’s No. 4 seed, Wayland High School, with a final score of 16-3 at an away game.

The boys lacrosse team fell to Division 3’s No. 3 seed, Falmouth High School, losing with a final score of 13-4, at an away game. Old Rochester was ranked as the No. 19 seed at the beginning of the post-season.
