Pancakes with Santa brings in toys for foster families
On Saturday, Dec. 7 the Marion Police Brotherhood hosted its second annual Pancakes with Santa. During this annual event, community members were invited to eat pancakes, color and have their photo taken with Santa, all compliments of the Marion Police Brotherhood. Donations of new unwrapped toys were again accepted at this years’ event. The donations were collected to benefit the Community Care Services/JRI Intensive Foster Care and Adoption Program located in Berkley, Mass.
Justice Resource Institute (JRI) is a locally based program that places children in foster homes throughout southeastern Massachusetts. This program provides intensive therapeutic family care for children and adolescents who have experienced significant trauma and hardship.
On Thursday, representatives of JRI came to the Marion Police Department to pick up the donations. The donations will be directly distributed to those families in the program to help ensure a wonderful Christmas.
The Marion Police Department and the Marion Police Brotherhood would like to extend our thanks to all those who volunteered, attended and donated gifts and made this event a success.
