Boats rocked and waves crashed on Sunday afternoon, just after Henri made landfall in Rhode Island.

Many boats were removed from their moorings in Mattapoisett Harbor, but dozens remained in the water, rocked by waves from the storm. In Marion, most boats were still moored in the harbor, but conditions in the early afternoon were tamer than in Mattapoisett.

Residents of both towns came out in the dozens to watch the storm. Lines of cars parked at Ned’s Point, and families walked Mattapoisett Town Wharf and Island Wharf in Marion.
