Plumb Library to open new teen room
Event Date
ROCHESTER — The Plumb Library will soon celebrate the opening of its newly-renovated teen room.
The library will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony with light refreshments from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26. Drop by, no registration needed for this event.
The project was funded through money secured by state Sen. Michael Rodrigues and the Community Empowerment Fund. The Friends of Plumb Library and Andrew Daniel, the town’s facilities manager, also helped complete the renovation of a former meeting room.
The teen room will be open for use when staffing is available. This will potentially be Tuesday through Thursday from 4-7 p.m. each week. There are study desks, white boards, a large table, comfortable seats, a book exchange, crafts and games available in the space.
The space will be put to use with a spooky painting workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 27 and a Halloween-themed Dungeons & Dragons event on Saturday, Oct. 31. Teens can sign up for these events on the library website, and can call or email the library with any questions.
