Robert M. Cabral, 74, of Wareham died Feb. 6 in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. He was the husband of Anna J. (Evora) Cabral and the son of the late Theodore and Louise (Gumbs) Cabral.

He was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for most of his life. Mr. Cabral graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School.

Mr. Cabral was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a stationary engineer for Canal Electric in Sandwich for 31 years before retiring.

He was a member of the 918 Golf Club in New Bedford, the Cape Cod Birdies and the Benjamin Cushing Post 2425 in Marion.

Survivors include his widow, Anna J. (Evora) Cabral; two daughters, Robin C. Marion and her husband Keith of Boston and Nicole M. Cabral of Wareham; five brothers, Theodore Cabral of Virgina, Rudolph Cabral of Boston, Paul Cabral of Middleboro, Richard Cabral of Rochester and Edward Cabral of California; two sisters, Anna Cabral of Onset and Yvonne Alexander of Florida; two grandchildren, Darius Gamboa and Mason Marion; and a great granddaughter, Nevaeh Gamboa. He was the brother of the late Francis X. Cabral and Charles Cabral.

His funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Visiting hours are from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
