Robert Keeney, 76
Robert M. Keeney, 76, of Bourne died April 3 in Tobey Hospital, Wareham. He was the husband of Carol A. (Conklin) Keeney and the son of the late Edwin R. and Martha E. (Dashnaw) Keeney.
He was born in Bath, New York and lived in Exeter, New Hampshire before moving to Bourne in 1983.
He graduated from Exeter High School and attended the University of New Hampshire.
Mr. Keeney worked as a Die Cutter at Design Mark Industries in Wareham for many years. Previously he worked at Oui Lok in Wareham and set up the plant in Costa Rica.
He enjoyed fly fishing, woodworking, camping and hunting. He loved NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He also loved Western movies.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Carol A. (Conklin) Keeney; his children, Charlene Tilden of Mattapoisett, Patricia Keeney and her partner Mike Pennisi of Exeter, New Hampshire, James Killion and his wife, Becky of Bourne, Daniel Keeney of California and Timothy Keeney of Exeter, New Hampshire; a brother, Richard Keeney and his wife Anne of Monroe, Virginia; six grandchildren, Samantha Tilden, Britney Tilden, Devyn Killion, Vincent Pennisi, Michelle Hall and her husband Marc, and Amy Meattey; three great grandchildren, Max Moniz, Kyler Hernandez and Kiana Hernandez; many nephews and nieces. Another son, Mark Keeney died in 2012.
Visiting hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham. Followed by a celebration of life at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
