Rochester facilities manager assumed parks responsibilities

ROCHESTER — Facilities manager Andrew Daniel has assumed responsibilities for upkeep of the town’s parks. 

The town’s Facilities Department maintains and handles repairs to town municipal buildings.

Town Administrator Cameron Durant recently created an agreement with the Parks Department to hand day-to-day management to Daniel. The department had been struggling with completing certain tasks, Daniel said at the Select Board’s meeting on Oct. 19.

Select Board member Adam Murphy said there haven’t been any complaints since Daniel has taken over the management responsibilities. Daniel’s “moving in the right direction,” he said. 

Daniel handles tasks like fixing issues with bathrooms, fertilizing trees and plumbing. He will also install a new scoreboard in the Dexter Lane soccer field. The Forever1111 foundation donated thousands to fund the scoreboard.
