Rochester Land Trust releases new trail guide
The Rochester Land Trust has published the second edition of its "Explore Rochester Trail Guide" in the hopes that more people will visit the miles of open space available in town.
RLT President David Smith said a survey from the Open Space Committee found that one of the top things residents wanted was more hiking trails.
“Our feeling is that we have quite a few of them, and that a lot of people must not know where they are,” said Smith. “We just wanted people to be aware of them.”
The RLT decided to update its guide, reflecting three new entries since the first edition.
The 35-page guide includes 15 different trail maps with information on the length of the trail, recreation, wildlife and other pertinent information at each site.
