Rochester receives $800,000 for Rochester Crossroads
BOSTON – On Oct. 26, Rep. Bill Straus (D-Mattapoisett) announced that the Baker administration has selected Rochester as a recipient of a One Stop grant for fiscal year 2023.
Rochester is one of 60 cities and towns awarded funding during the most recent round of grants under the program and will receive $800,000 for infrastructure improvements related to Rochester Crossroads, a Smart Growth, mixed-use development project at the intersections of Routes 58 and 28 in Rochester.
The Community One Stop for Growth Program permits municipalities to submit a single application for consideration under 12 separate economic development grant programs administered by the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, the Department of Housing and Community Development, and MassDevelopment.
Applications were first accepted this past January and were evaluated during the summer and fall.
“One Stop is an efficient means for ensuring that state dollars target worthy qualified projects, such as the project in Rochester, and I commend the Rochester officials for their work in securing these funds,” said Rep. Straus.
The recipients were publicly acknowledged at a ceremony held by the Governor’s office earlier in the day.
