Seal program goes swimmingly for after-school group

Dec 9, 2015

The Marion Natural History Museum after-school group enjoyed a close up look at a model of a harbor seal on Dec. 2. The museum borrowed the seal from the Buzzards Bay Coalition for the day and discovered what makes a harbor seal such a successful resident of Marion waters.

Kids also learned about the hazards seals may encounter. Museum members thanked the Buzzards Bay Coalition for the loan of the model and the Marine Mammal Rescue Center in Bourne for printed hand outs.

The after-school program will participate in a nature craft party on Dec. 16 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for members and $8 for non-members. Light refreshments will be served during the event. To register, visit the museum's website www.marionmuseum.org.
