Second 'homecoming' rallies students

Old Rochester Regional High School students sent the boys basketball team to compete against Fairhaven in style last week after the school held its first ever winter pep rally.

The Bulldogs beat the Blue Devils 69-42. Friday’s win cancelled ORR’s loss to the Blue Devils earlier in the season and kept the boys at the top of the South Coast Conference standings.

The game and rally capped a week of “Homecoming Part II” that featured themed dress up days including, America Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Pajama Day Wednesday, Ninja Day Thursday and School Activities Friday.

At Friday's pep rally, students from each grade participated in one of five individual events: Minute-to-draw, the three-legged race, a donut-on-a-string eating contest, a basketball three-point contest and an egg toss. For each contest won, the winning class earned $25 for its treasury.

On Saturday night, the homecoming continued with a glow-in-the-dark dance. The cafeteria was decorated with black lights and glow sticks. With more than one hundred people in attendance, the dance proved to be a camaraderie-filled event.
