September is library card sign-up month

Aug 27, 2022

MATTAPOISETT –  The Mattapoisett Free Public Library at 7 Barstow St. is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month with a raffle.

There will be two prizes for teens and adults who register for a new library card or use their card throughout the month of September.

The Children’s Department will have a raffle for children, too. From borrowing audiobooks to streaming movies to taking virtual Do It Yourself classes, there is a lot that can be accessed through the library with a library card in addition to magazines and books.

Library card sign-up can be done online or in person. Get the details at sailsinc.org/my-account/get-a-library-card and stop by the library to get a raffle ticket and new library card.

Current library users can earn raffle tickets by presenting their card, physically or digitally, at check out.

Additionally, borrowers whose card is stored at the library can earn a bonus raffle ticket by picking up that card. The library is no longer storing cards at the desk and cards that are not picked up by the end of September will be mailed to the address listed on the card. The library suggests that patrons check on their card’s whereabouts and update their library accounts.

Staff will draw the winners from each pool of raffle tickets at the end of the month and notify the winners.

Find out more about the library by visiting mattapoisettlibrary.org or email Library Director Jennifer Jones at jjones@sailsinc.org with any questions.
