Sippican Lands Trust Osprey Marsh now closed

MARION — Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Sippican Lands Trust has closed its Osprey Marsh property and accessible boardwalk and pathway at Osprey Marsh until further notice.
Sippican Lands Trust closed the Osprey Marsh because crowding on the boardwalk did not allow for six feet between visitors for social distancing. Though the boardwalk has some bumpouts, there are not enough to accommodate oncoming visitors.
“Social distancing is really important to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, and Sippican Lands Trust decided that closing our Osprey Marsh property was the appropriate decision at this time,” said Sippican Lands Trust Executive Director Jim Bride.
The Land Trust has now blocked off the boardwalk, trail system, and parking area at Osprey Marsh and will be closely monitoring the property along with police, but will keep its other properties open for visitors.
While the Osprey Marsh is closed until further notice, Sippican Lands Trust is working on developing virtual walks and programs for kids, adults and families.
