ROCHESTER — The Sippican Rod and Gun club will hold its 6th annual N.R.A. Women on Target program on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The nationally sponsored program designed for women will include a home safety class which qualifies the participant for a Massachusetts concealed carry permit or firearms ID card if under 21 years old.

The classroom safety course will be followed by a provided lunch and a trip to the gun range featuring 50- and 100-yard rifle ranges, a pistol range, and a trap range. Participants will be split into four groups and rotate between the ranges, spending about an hour at each.

The cost of the program is $95 and includes instruction, lunch, ammunition and use of firearms at the gun range, safety glasses, ear protection, an information packet, and certificates of completion of the program.

Limited space is available for the event and registration is required.
