Squadron to offer boating safety seminars
Buzzards Bay Sail & Power Squadron, a local boating organization part of United States Power Squadron (America’s Boating Club), is presenting a series of seminars on important boating topics during the month of August.
The non-profit organization’s “primary goal is to provide high quality boating education to our members and the general public,” a press release said.
The seminars begin with a boat handling series on Aug. 7, covering close quarters and docking, and Aug. 21, on being underway on open water. Private boat handling lessons are also available by appointment.
Another series on collision avoidance will cover nautical rules of the road on Aug. 14 and Automatic Identification System and radar on Aug. 28.
All seminars are online from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Each series is $50 for nonmembers or $40 for members.
