MARION — Saint Gabriel’s Episcopal Church hosted two eucharist-centered events on Friday, March 31.

First, local art historian Mary Wilson gave a lecture on Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper.” Wilson explained the history, technique and symbolism of the painting which depicts a central moment in Christian history.

Following the lecture, a traditional Seder was hosted by the Parish. This was the first time St. Gabriel’s has hosted these events.

Over sixty people were in attendance, and all present learned about how the ancient Jewish Seder forms the foundation of the Christian Eucharist. St. Gabriel’s Director of Youth and Family Wendy Reardon was instrumental organized and provided food for the event.

“It is so inspiring to see people come out to dive deeply and boldly into their faith through art, prayer, and the breaking of bread with others,” said Rector Eric Fialho.
