St. Patrick’s Day leprechaun hunt
MATTAPOISETT — The Mattapoisett Land Trust is partnering with the Mattapoisett Free Public Library for an outdoor storytime, a leprechaun loot hike and pea planting on St. Patrick’s Day Tuesday, March 17 at 10 a.m.
The adventure will begin at the Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. parking area located on Angelica Avenue with a leprechaun-themed story read by children’s librarian Kevin Thompson.
After the story, the group will set off to find where leprechauns have hidden their gold. The group will take a short hike through the woods searching for golden chocolate coins.
After the hike, the group will continue the tradition of planting peas on St. Patrick’s Day. Each attendee can plant some peas and take them home to watch them grow this Spring.
This event is free to all, please RSVP on the Mattapoisett Land Trust events page so the leprechauns know how much gold to hide. Visit mattlandtrust.org/events to register.
Dress accordingly for the weather. Email manager@mattlandtrust.org with any questions.
