Storm debris can be dropped off Saturdays in November

Nov 5, 2021

Marion residents with limbs and branches on their property from the storm can bring the debris to a drop-off area on Benson Brook Road from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday in November, the Marion Department of Public Works, Highway Division has announced.

The drop-off is free, limited to Marion residents and is not available to contractors.

The DPW is continuing the storm clean-up on public roads, sidewalks and municipal properties. The process will be lengthy and patience is requested.

Residents with a tree down on their private property should contact a tree company to cut the tree and properly dispose of it.

Don’t bring debris and leaves to the curbside, the DPW said. With winter quickly approaching and other tasks needing to be done in addition to storm clean-up, the department does not have adequate resources to collect debris from private properties, the DPW said.
