Things to do in the Tri-Town: Shred unwanted stuff, enjoy pancakes

Saturday, June 4 

Shred your stuff 

A free community shredding event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 4 at the Cushing Center parking lot, 465 Mill St., Marion. Those attending can securely dispose of unwanted papers without tossing them in the trash and risking identity theft. There is no charge for the event, but participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the center’s food pantry. 

Buy a plant 

A plant sale will be sponsored by Mattapoisett Friends of the Council on Aging from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at the former fire station, 26 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett.

Sunday, June 5 

Enjoy some pancakes

The Mattapoisett Lions Club will sponsor a pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 5 at the Oxford Creamery, 98 County Road, Route 6, Mattapoisett, The menu includes plain or blueberry pancakes, sausages, orange juice and coffee. Tickets are $7 and proceeds benefit Lions Club charities. 

Wednesday, June 8 

A Tabor Neighbor Party will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 on the Tabor waterfront. The party is hosted by Jaccaci and his wife, Lucia Jaccaci. The soiree is open to residents 21 and older. Anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP by June 3 by visiting taboracademy.org/neighborparty or e-mailing blove@taboracademy.org
