Tri-County Symphonic Band to swing into the 2019-2020 season with jazz

The Tri-County Symphonic Band will jazz up the start of their season with a jazz concert of 20th and 21st century pieces on Oct. 20. The performance will take place at Tabor Academy’s Fireman Performing Arts Center.  Saxophonist  Marcus Monteiro will join the band as the featured soloist. The concert will also include a performance by the Old Rochester Regional High School Jazz Band. Fifty percent of the online ticket sales on BrownPaperTickets.com will benefit the Friends of Old Rochester Music Association.

Conductor Philip Sanborn will lead a free Children’s Christmas Concert will take place at Sippican School on Dec. 8 this year. The school’s concert choir will perform alongside the symphonic band. 

The Tri-County Symphonic Band will explore  varied repertoire in a concert entitled “Rossini, Reed and Raum in the Dartmouth High School Auditorium on Feb. 9th.

The band will focus on marches from around the world for a March 22 concert. David Paff will perform on the euphonium for this concert. 

The 18th Annual Benefit Pops Concert will be held at Tabor Academy on June 7 at 2 p.m., in a tent, and will feature the movie music of Boston Pops conductor John Williams.
