Triathletes will soon be off to the races

MATTAPOISETT — Registration is still open for the Mattapoisett Lion’s Club’s annual triathlon.
The triathlon will be held on Sunday, July 27 and begins at 8 a.m. from Town Beach with a quarter-mile swim. After the swim participants will embark on a 10-mile bike ride through Mattapoisett.
The race will conclude with a 5k that will bring athletes around town then past Ned’s Point Lighthouse and back to Town Beach.

The race costs $75 for kids ages 13 through 19 and $85 for adults. There is also group discount for triathlon teams of 10 or more racers.
All proceeds from the race will go toward Mattapoisett Lions Club charities.
