UPDATED:Marion harbormaster moves to Mattapoisett
MATTAPOISETT — On Monday, June 26, the Mattapoisett Harbormaster welcomed former Marion Harbormaster Isaac Perry into its ranks.
Perry has replaced former Mattapoisett Harbormaster Jamie McIntosh who resigned in March to join the Wareham Fire Department.
According to Perry, as the only full-time staff member in the Marion Harbormaster office, his new position in Mattapoisett will give him a chance “to get out of the office a little bit” and away from being “stuck behind a desk.”
The Mattapoisett Select Board formally voted to appoint Perry to the position during a meeting on Tuesday, June 27. Perry has served with the Marion Harbormaster Department for 19 years, according to a Marion Harbormaster Department Facebook post.
“We cannot thank you for all you have done for the Harbor Department, the Town of Marion and most importantly the boaters of Buzzards Bay,” read the Marion Harbormaster Department Facebook post. “Isaac, we wish you all the best in your new endeavor. We will see you on the Bay, [in a] different uniform!”
During a Marion Select Board meeting on Thursday, June 29, Deputy Harbormaster Adam Murphy was deemed as the intermittent Harbormaster for Marion.
