X-rays confirm Rochester dog injured with projectiles
A Rochester dog injured in the early morning hours on Oct. 14 was shot at with some kind of projectile, according to Police Chief Paul Magee.
As part of their investigation, the department paid to have X-rays taken of Noble, a 4-year-old Labrador Retriever. The X-rays revealed several foreign objects lodged in the animal's body.
Noble’s owner, Mike Stack, notified police about the incident after the family pet went missing and was found soon after bleeding from several wounds. Stack said the animal was only out of his sight for 18-20 minutes, so he could not have gotten far from home.
“All our friends have been mortified at the fact that something would happen like that. They know our dog, he’s just a big lover,” said Stack.
He said Noble does not need surgery as long as the objects do not interfere with the dog’s day to day life, and so far, he’s his happy go-lucky self.
Stack does hope the person who injured his dog is found soon.
“I have faith in the Rochester police department and their ability to come to some type of resolution in this matter,” said Stack.
Magee said the department will continue its investigation.
