YMCA hosts evening of 'Food, Fun and Fireworks'

After weeks of summer camp, the Mattapoisett YMCA celebrated the end of the season with “Food, Fun and Fireworks” on the lawn.
Last summer the Y held a laser show with games for kids, food trucks and more. This time around, “we're ending with a bang, quite literally,” said Director Joe Marciszyn.
Proceeds from the event go back to the kids.
“Our goal is to try to send more kids to camp,” Marciszyn said.
He described this summer's camp as “awesome” and “crazy” with a record number of kids.
Marciszyn also said the event has become the biggest special event put on by the Y.
“We'd love for it to be bigger and better,” he said.
The event ended this year with a fireworks show over the water.
