Youth soccer clinic underway at Dexter Field

Around 60 kids, ranging from ages 8 to 13, are participating in the Marion Mattapoisett Rochester Youth Soccer clinic this week at Dexter Field.
The players were split up first by age, the younger ones sticking with Director of Soccer Operations Eric Parada, and were then evaluated and split up by skill.
“We spent about 30 minutes analyzing their skill level at the beginning,” Parada said.
The clinic focuses on helping develop skills such as dribbling and passing, with game-type situations coming later in the week.
Hesrick “Coach Sampson” Richards is one of the coaches at the clinic and is an expert in “dribble mastery,” Parada said.
Older players were also present at the clinic to help with drills.
