Town to investigate Hillside Motel
The town will look into the conditions at Hillside Motel after police expressed concern following the latest in a string of drug-related arrests.
On Nov. 17, the police arrested a mother and daughter on domestic abuse charges. The mother was also charged with illegal drug possession. Both women were taken to the hospital after exhibiting signs of a drug overdose. Another man who gave police a false identity was also arrested at their motel room.
At the Selectmen’s meeting on Tuesday night, Town Administrator Mike Gagne said Police Chief Mary Lyons had “grave concerns for some significant faults and failings” at the motel, including issues related to building, fire and health safety.
“There will be a top to bottom review of that location,” Gagne said.
Following the regular meeting, Selectmen also met with the town’s attorney in executive session to discuss possible litigation and an ongoing police investigation.
