Oct 17, 2017

Gateway Youth Hockey, a Wareham-based ice hockey league which practices in Marion and takes players from the tri-town, is offering winter "Learn to Skate" and "Learn to Play Ice Hockey" programs at Tabor Academy's ice rink.

All participants will learn the fundamentals of skating, while having fun. Participants in the "Learn to Play Hockey" group will also learn the basics of hockey while skating with one of the league's teams.

Participants in the "Learn to Skate" program are required to have a helmet (face cage is recommended), gloves or mittens, knee and elbow pads (bicycle pads are fine) and single-blade skates.

Participants in the "Learn to Play Hockey" program are required to bring a helmet with a face cage, hockey gloves, chest protector, hockey elbow pads, hockey shorts, hockey shin guards, hockey skates and a hockey stick.

Registration is $99 per participant. The sessions run from 10-11 a.m. (Deceber 3 start time is 8:45) on Sundays, from November 5-January 14. (There is no practice on December 24 or January 1.)
