On Monday, July 29 Mike and Ann Cambra will cook a special luncheon for seniors at 12 p.m. All are welcome, and a $5 donation is suggested. To sign up for this event, call 508-763-8723.
SHINE counselors will be available at the Rochester Senior Center toward the end of the summer. They will be available for counseling on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Tuesdays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Specific starting dates will be announced in the near future. SHINE counselors are volunteers that are trained and certified by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs to explain many areas of health insurance such as Medicare and MassHealth.
The Summer Movie Series takes place on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. Movies are shown on a 60 inch wall-mounted television in the community room. Bingo is played on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Rochester Board of Health offers free blood pressure and wellness clinics on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The part-time Rochester Public Health Nurse can be reached at 508-763-5421 x205.
Senior Center vans are available for rides to and from the center. Vans may be used for rides to local appointments, shopping, and other daily needs.
