Carol (Michaud) Sanz, 83
Carol Sanz, a long time resident of Marion, passed away on July 15, 2019. Carol graduated from Tabor Academy and went on to Bates College and Katherine Gibbs School. After graduating college, Carol joined the State Department in Washington, DC and later worked for the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. Carol married Andres Sanz of Madrid, Spain and continued
living in Colombia where she had two daughters. The family moved to Buenos Aires and, then, Madrid where she lived before returning to Marion in 1968.
Upon her return, Carol taught at the alternative school (ILC) in Old Rochester Regional High School before working as International Sales Manager for a hybrid microcircuit company. After
living out of the country for years and traveling to Europe for business, Carol enjoyed the quiet life in the small seaside town of Marion where she worked for her alma mater, Tabor Academy for many years until her retirement.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Carol Hebert and Lindy Daley as well as her four grandchildren, Andrew Hebert, Jamie Daley, Nick Daley, and Emily Daley.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Marion. In lieu of flowers a gift may be given in Carol’s name to The Women’s Center, 405 County Road, New Bedford, MA 02740.
