Sippican Lands Trust to host trip to Cuba
MARION — Intrepid travelers could sip their cuba libres in the land of Castro this November as the Sippican Lands Trust hosts a 8-day tour of the Carribean island nation.
The trip — a joint venture organized by SLT and Cuba Up Close, a tour company that manages tourist trips to the country — will be held from November 6 to 13 and promises to introduce travelers to the culture, food, and people of Cuba.
The tour will feature visits to Old Havana, including Ernest Hemingway’s old haunts; the Museo de Bellas Artes, including a private museum tour; the National Museum of Natural History; the National Botanical Gardens; the historic Bay of Pigs coast; and the organic farms of the Pinar del Rio region.
SLT and Cuba Up Close will host an information session on Thursday, July 15 at 6 p.m. at 13 Cottage St. in Marion. Jean Fuller Gest, a Cuba Up Close coordinator, will provide information about the trip and about traveling to Cuba generally.
If you plan to attend the information session, please send an email to info@sippicanlandstrust.org by Wednesday, July 14.
