Diamondback terrapin subject of Marion Natural History Museum presentation

MARION — At the Marion Natural History Museum, an afterschool group learned about efforts made to protect the endangered diamondback terrapin.
On Wednesday, Feb. 28, Debra Ewing presented photos of a “terrapin garden” she helped to create in Marion. Katrina Bingham-Mass and Kara Balzarini, volunteers from the New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance also fielded questions from students regarding the species.
The students also created clay terrapins and explored artifacts that had been brought by Bingham-Mass and Balzarini.
