MARION — A Rochester woman was arrested in Marion after driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of two crashes on the morning of Friday, Sept 20, according to the Marion Police Department.

Allyson Lagasse, 45, was charged with operating under the influence, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, failure to stop for police, disturbing the peace, destruction of property and two counts of leaving the scene of property damage, after she allegedly struck two cars.

Lagasse also received a citation for not having her license, according to a press release from the Marion Police Department.

Just after 11 a.m Sept. 20, a Marion police officer around Front Street and Ryder Lane noticed a car in the road, a damaged street sign and pieces of headlight on the ground, according to the release.

The driver of that vehicle told the officer that a red Ford sedan crossed the yellow line and struck their car. The officer then saw the red Ford exiting a parking lot, according to the Marion Police Department.

The department later learned a second unoccupied car was also hit nearby, Marion police said.

Lagasse traveled over a mile before stopping for police, according to the press release.

No one was injured in the crash, Marion police said.

An arraignment for Lagasse was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20 at Wareham District Court.
