Rochester Police Department receives $3,000 for drug response efforts

ROCHESTER — The Rochester Police Department received a check for $3,000 from District Attorney Tim Cruz on Monday, July 7.

The funds will go toward police efforts to fight the ongoing opioid crisis, enhance responses to overdoses to Rochester and provide officers with technology to improve their work within the town.

From 2015 to 2022, there were 8 opioid-related deaths in Rochester, according to data published by the Massachusetts state government.

Town Administrator Cameron Durant was present when Sergeant Jason Denham and Sergeant Connor Leddin received the check at the Rochester Council on Aging Senior Center.
