Arlene J. Barrett, 89
WAREHAM – Arlene J. Barrett, 89, of Wareham, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert J. Barrett.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Marjorie B. (Zaniboni) and Attilio E. Borsari. A lifelong resident of Wareham, Arlene was a proud graduate of Wareham High School. She worked for many years as a school secretary at the former Wareham Intermediate School, where she was a trusted and familiar presence to generations of students and staff.
Arlene was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham and was known for her warm
spirit, kindness, and love of community. She enjoyed cooking; her homemade tortellini and "Nona's pancakes" were family favorites. She enjoyed travelling to Aruba and took great pride in her home and yard where she enjoyed tending to her garden. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Maureen Barrett of Wareham and Jeffrey Barrett and his wife Maureen of Marion; her brothers, Kenneth Borsari and his wife Diana of Katonah, NY, and Alan Borsari and his wife Susan of Brookfield, WI; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Barrett and his wife Heather, Andrew Barrett and his wife Sophia, Bryan Teefy and his wife Rachael, Stephanie Barrett, and Matthew Teefy and his partner Kathryne Perrill; her great-grandchildren, Alia Teefy and Daisy Barrett; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Sandra Dias and Terri Medeiros for their kind and compassionate care and support of Arlene.
Her funeral will be from Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 10 AM. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Monday, July 21st from 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home.
