MATTAPOISETT -- Two icons shared the stage at the annual Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt at Ned’s Point Saturday, April 4.
The classic Ned’s Point Lighthouse and the Easter Bunny.
The vintage seaside spot served as host as children chased down colorful, candy-filled eggs during the yearly tradition.
Windy conditions meant that some children chased their eggs more than once as they flew out of their hands and baskets.
Many of those attending enjoyed the traditional aspect of the sweet celebration.
“We had a great time last year,’’ said Phoebe Magee, who attended with her sister Amber Magee and her son Martin O’Dowd. “So we decided to make it a great tradition.’’
Stefanie Lara was one of those who appreciated the history. She grew up in Mattapoisett and always enjoyed the family-oriented activities.
A generation later, she now lives in Pennsylvania with her husband Fernando Lara and their children, Aurelia, 4, Benicio, 2, and Santiago, 7,
But during a holiday visit with her parents, now living in Pennsylvania, she returned to town to visit her family and enjoy a classi childhood experience with her family.
“I love sharing part of my childhood with them,’’ she said.
That delighted her mother Monica Curhan. “I love sharing the area with them,’’ she said.
The activities had a sweet appeal for Jackson Alter, 7. “I came out for all the candy and to eat the candy and to see the Easter Bunny.’’
