Shari Medina Jankowski
Shari Medina Jankowski of Newbury, NH passed away peacefully at her home on July 6th, 2026. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother “Lolly,” and friend. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Shari was born on December 20th, 1958 in New Bedford, MA to Frederico (Fred) and Leola Medina (née Nadeau). Growing up, she excelled in academics earning valedictorian honors at Old Rochester Regional High School in 1976, followed by an AB degree in Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College in 1980 and a JD from Vermont Law School in 1988.
Shari was a dedicated attorney with a long career in estate planning at Wiggin & Nourie then at the Fidelity Personal Trust Company. When not working, she enjoyed being near the water, making loving home environments in the many places she lived including Marion, MA, Lake Sunapee, NH, and Jupiter, FL. You could often find her staying active by running, playing pickle ball, doing pilates, and hiking. But you would find her happiest when she was with family and friends playing golf, a true passion that took her on many adventures and established so many lifelong connections. She also loved holiday cooking and traditions, like her Thanksgiving hors d’oeuvres and Christmas french toast. Her happy place was anywhere she could spend quality time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter and loving spirit.
Shari is survived by her husband of 45 years James (Jim) Jankowski, son Andrew Jankowski, daughter Caroline (Cara) Lucey, daughter-in-law Alyssa Jankowski, son-in-law Jack Lucey, her beloved grandchildren Ryder and Theodore (Teddy), brothers Frederico (Rick) Medina, Darryl Medina, and Karl Medina, sister-in-law Sara Dickson and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Baker Hill Golf Club in Newbury, NH on August 27th at 3PM. In honor of Shari’s vibrant spirit and love of color we invite you to wear colorful attire as we celebrate a life filled with joy, kindness, and love.
