Exploring the world of insects

Apr 25, 2019

MARION — The Marion Natural History Museum’s afterschool program looked at various insects, like the Madagascar cockroach and the Giant Water Bug, on April 24.

The session started with a presentation by entomologist, Blake Dinus. Afterwards, the afterschool program went outside to look at some of the insects they found in their neighborhood.

Using insect nets, children caught bugs and took a close look at them, using magnifiers and microscopes to identify their species.
