Joseph Garrett Cosgrove, 61
MARION – Joseph Garrett Cosgrove, 61, of Marion, passed away on March 23, 2026, at home. He was the son of the late Robert V. and Marion L. (Krug) Cosgrove.
He was born in Brockton and lived in West Wareham before moving to Marion several years ago. He graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1983.
Joe enjoyed watching vintage television shows from the 1970’s and 1980’s, was highly knowledgeable about shows of that era, with many interesting facts and details of the characters. He was also a remarkable impersonator of Rodney Dangerfield, and he enjoyed recalling his jokes with precision. His favorite musician was Bob Seger.
He worked in the food service area for several years.
Survivors include his brothers, Dennis F. Cosgrove and his wife, Jessica and Barry C. Cosgrove and his wife, Ingrid all of West Wareham; his aunt Dotty Eyre of Sacramento, CA; his nieces and nephews, Kristen L. Stone and her husband, Dana, Matthew A. Cosgrove, Kevin C. Cosgrove, Corrinne Lora and Pibeny Cortes ; 5 cousins, Marianne, Cindy, Allyson, Christine and Elizabeth. He also had a dozen Blackmore Pond cousins and many friends. He was the brother of the late Robert V. Cosgrove and Brian H. Cosgrove.
Visiting hours are from 2 – 4 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – WAREHAM, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham.
