Marion Institute awarded nearly $1 million grant
MARION — The Marion Institute received nearly $1 million as part of a state-wide grant to support organizations and municipalities helping people lead healthier lives.
The funding is designed to support locally-driven efforts to build healthier communities through policies, systems and environments that encourage a healthy lifestyle.
The grant comes from the Massachusetts Community Health and Healthy Aging Funds, and the funds will be disbursed over the next three to five years.
The goal of The Funds is to provide grantmaking and capacity-building resources in partnership with communities to identify inequities, address the impact of structural and institutional racism on population health, and create long-term, meaningful changes in health outcomes.
