Marion town administrator will not leave position for Harwich
HARWICH — Marion Town administrator Geoffrey Gorman was not selected for an open town administrator position in Harwich.
At a Harwich Select Board meeting on Monday, Jan. 12, the Board unanimously elected James McGrail for the position of town administrator.
McGrail was the previous town administrator of Marion and is the current Middleboro town manager. The other candidate was Jim Kreidler, former Winchendon town manager.
Gorman has served as the Marion town administrator for three years and his contract is coming to a conclusion soon.
The Harwich Select Board complimented all the candidates on their effort and commitment to the position. The board pointed out and thanked Gorman for his time in the military.
Gorman previously served in the United States Navy for 27 years and has been active in Cape Cod municipalities since he moved to the coast in 2009.
“[He is] a very accomplished town administrator in the town of Marion and just a very standup guy,” Select Board Member Jeffery Handler said.
Gorman was not available for comment at the time of publication.
