The town of Mattapoisett is holding a 30-day public review period for its revised aggregation plan for Marion Community Electricity Aggregation, the town announced Monday, Dec. 9.

Mattapoisett Community Electricity Aggregation is the town’s official electricity supply program, active since 2016.

The aggregation plan describes how Mattapoisett’s electricity program is structured and operated. Mattapoisett secured approval for its original aggregation plan from the Department of Public Utilities in 2015, according to a town press release.

The Department of Public Utilities in July 2024 issued new rules for aggregation plans, called “Guidelines for Municipal Aggregators,” which expand local authority for cities and towns concerning the operation of their programs and increase public transparency about program operations, the release said.

The revisions to Mattapoisett’s aggregation plan ensure the plan aligns with the new guidelines, the release said.

The revised plan will not impact Mattapoisett Community Electricity Aggregation’s current electricity supply options and prices, which are fixed until November 2025 through the town’s supply contract with Constellation.

Mattapoisett’s program was developed and is managed on a daily basis by consultant Good Energy, the release said.

The public review period is open until January 13, 2024.
