New play soon opens at Marion Art Center

MARION — "Tiny Beautiful Things," a play based on the book by Cheryl Strayed, will soon open at the Marion Art Center.
The show is adapted by Nia Vardalos and directed by Jennifer Palmer. It will feature performances by Margo Ruggiero, Macy Kinney, Amy-Susie Bradford, Stephanie Lawrence and Frank Mitchell Scanzillo
Performances will be held Oct. 16-18 and 23-25. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Tickets at $23 for MAC members and $28 for nonmembers.
"Tiny Beautiful Things" is based on the online advice column "Sugar," which Strayed wrote anonymously from 2010 to 2012. The play follows Sugar as she draws on her own experiences to answer questions from readers facing personal struggles.
