One day boating safety courses offered

WAREHAM — A one day Boat America Safe Boating Course will be given by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 06-03 on the second Saturday of each month, February through May.
Classes are held at the West Wareham Fire Station #2 located at 2368 Cranberry Highway in Wareham.
The next class is on March 14. Each class runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Classes include two ten-minute breaks, a 30-minute lunch break and a final exam.
This is a great in-depth boating safety course for boaters of all experience levels.
Topics include Introduction to Boating, Boating Laws, Required Safety Equipment, Safe Operation and Navigation, Boating Emergencies, Trailering and Sports in Boating.
Successful completion of any one-day class gives participants a Boat America Safe Boating Course certificate and ID card from the U.S. Coast Guard, which meets all requirements for the new Massachusetts Boat Operator regulations.
Preregistration is required. The class cost, including a book and all materials is $45, and seats are limited.
